# IndexNow Key

Host a UTF-8 text file named `{key}.txt` whose body exactly matches `{key}`.

Recommended placement is the site root. If the key is not at the root, include the `keyLocation` value when submitting URLs to IndexNow.

For scanner verification, advertise the key location with a same-origin `rel="indexnow-key"` link or `meta name="indexnow-key-location"` value.
