What is the UCP Playground?
The UCP Playground is a browser workbench for Universal Commerce Protocol storefronts. It connects to a UCP profile, finds the available commerce tools, and lets developers test product search, cart updates, checkout calls, and merchant handoff links without writing a custom agent first.
What the playground tests
- Connects to a live storefront URL or a pasted UCP profile.
- Finds catalog, cart, checkout, payment, and supporting UCP tools when the profile exposes them.
- Runs product search with the filters advertised by the connected catalog schema.
- Tests cart lines, variants, quantities, discounts, checkout links, and cart expiry from the server response.
- Shows headers, request bodies, responses, warnings, and timeline events so developers can debug the protocol call.
When cart state looks wrong
Inspect the request body and server response side by side. The page keeps the visible cart in sync only after the UCP server accepts the update.
When checkout needs a human handoff
The playground shows hosted checkout links, embedded checkout attempts, advertised links, and expiry data so teams can see where the buyer continues.
